Anyway, we celebrated our 5th anniversary last weekend and during that dinner, it occurred to me that I have everything I want. I have a wonderful husband, wonderful friends (we had 25 of them there with us!) and a beautiful healthy daughter who is growing up before my very eyes. That night made me realize that I need to stop dwelling on the past and what we didn't do (a "real" wedding) and celebrate what we have (survive my MIL passing away, my PPD and being married for 5 years, having Lillie) done and will do in the future. So, after some talking and promising that I was really cool with my own idea, we've decided not to renew our vows. We have a wonderful marriage, who cares how we got married.
So, that brings me to the next part of my post...I'm changing the name of the blog. The name doesn't really make any sense if we're not doing the renewal. I'll still blog about the same kind of topics, I'm sure. I promise that I'll make it even better, if you promise to keep reading.
Also, I've (we've) made a couple of more big decisions and I'll share those over the next week. My birthday last weekend was a big day for me and made me really think about my life and what direction to take in the future. So, I'll share what I've come up with in the next couple of days
Ok, enough ramblingHope you like the new title and banner. The banner was designed by the talented Nicole from NBCreative on Etsy. The name comes from a long running tradition in our 'hood where one couple hosts everybody for drinks and snacks while all the kids play. Hence the name Kids and Cocktails. It's perfect for that and I think it'll be perfect for my blog.

Congrats on the name change, it seems perfect for your blog! I love your realization that you have a wonderful life and to stop dwelling on the past. I think we often get caught up in the image of what a wedding should be instead of why we want to get married in the first place - to share a life together.
On a side note, I have to tell you that KitKats and Mountain Dew are two of my very favorite things, too!
Thank you. It means a lot to me that you commented. I was beginning to think people hated the name. :) On the marriage front, it's hard not to love a man who will buy you a letterpress because he thinks you are cute when you're "obsessed". :) What a dork he is, but he's my dork.
Oh and KitKats and The Dew are the best! I just wish they were both fat free...
