How hard could it be?

It's probably not that hard to take the sliding doors off my closet and turn it into this...

Right??

Perfectly executed inspiration...

The inspiration...

The result...
{FFW}
I think this was a great interpretation of the original inspiration photo. It captures the original look, but has great details that make it it's own thing. For those of you who have never read A Farm Fresh Wedding, you should take a look. She's done blogging now, but all of her posts are there and they're great. She's also open to emails if you have any questions. I mean, who wouldn't want to talk about the fantastic wedding they put together.

My venue!!!

I've never been able to find a picture of the Lyceum Lawn at Seaside on the web, though I'd seen a great one of a wedding in flower magazine. I have the clipping from the magazine hung on our fridge, because it's basically exactly what I want our reception/dinner/lawn party to look like, with some small changes. Well, I finally managed to find the picture online and used my very rough Photoshop abilities to crop it and make it a new .jpeg. Here it is in all it's glory, a big green lawn...with some fancy stuff on it! :)

It's a HUGE lawn surrounded by hedges on three sides and a darling white school building on the other. It's the school lawn for the community school in Seaside and is used for special events, such as receptions and movies as well. Because the lawn is so big and our party won't even come close filling the place, we're going to have croquet and bocce/petanque. We'll also probably have a dj or band plus a dance floor, depending on how many people actually come. We probably won't have a band for 20 people, but 45-50 would be a great size to justify the extra expense of music and a dance floor.

Anyway...here's our reception venue, what do you think? I think it'll be perfect for the Southern luxe lawn party I'm going for. Think waiters with trays of champagne serving people playing croquet and me in this dress and How in some seersucker. Yumm-o!

Injured reserve...

Well, I hurt my knee skiing {which since I have a bad knee isn't a surprise}...so I'm curled up in the library at the Four Seasons Whistler listening to Christmas music and playing on my computer. There are worse things...I'm waiting for my massage appointment. ;)

Even though I'm 18 months away, I've been stockpiling the candlesticks pictured below for about 6 months now to use on our dinner table for the VR {remember, that means vow renewal, which I think sounds really stupid, so I refuse to type it all out}. Chelsea posted this picture today from Blueprint {oh how I miss BP} and I had to post it because it's so nice to see the idea in your head in real life. KWIM

I love the organic relaxed look of this arrangement that I found on Coco&Kelly. It also suits the hot weather that we'll be in, since if they wilt, you don't notice! I would do more flowers, less greenery, but the textures and colors are beautiful, don't you think?

I love Milk Glass, so as of yesterday I've decided to collect a bunch of vases, compotes, bowls, etc. to possibly use for the centerpieces on the table. I think that the arrangement above would look great, but I'm kinda worried about too many different kinds of flowers competing with the vases. What do you think? I think I'm willing to lose the milk glass over the flowers, just because I LOVE flowers. But, I'm going to try to go with lots of candles anyway, so there won't be a ton of flowers anyway. Gotta go budget somewhere...

Stunning...

{here via here}
{no clue where I found this}

How great would this canopy look on the beach? We're doing the renewal ceremony on the beach and I have to say I love the look of the orchids hanging down behind us. What do you think?

Collections.

Now that I actually have bookshelves, I think I'm going to do something like this. I'm planning on saving my first bottle this NYE in Seaside (she has a bottle of Destin sand in the second picture, isn't it beautiful? So white!), so wish me lucky on the next 100 or so.
