DIY question...

Has anybody ever used newspaper to line an envelope? I've just decided to throw my sweet hubs a small-ish birthday party and am planning on doing a crawfish/low country boil. I usually cover my tables in newspaper for a boil, so I was thinking it would be a cute idea to line the invitation envelopes. What do you think?

It might be too thin to do, but I'm going to try it out this week on some envelopes I have here. If it doesn't work, has anybody ever seen newspaper print paper?

Thanks!

Update~
After thinking about it some more, I think y'all are all right about it rubbing off and being too thin. Suann showed me this paper and I might use this. Stay tuned...I'm going searching for some other paper to use if I do a kraft envelope.

The only issues I could foresee are trying to score the crease when it's so thin and having the print rub off on the invite.

That's a cute idea, but I would be worried about the newsprint rubbing off on the invite, too. Could you just run off some photocopies of the newspaper? That should solve the thin issue, too.

Great idea from Stephanie. I would definitely run it off on the copier.
Love the idea of newsprint for the boil!

I think it'd be awesome to create your own newsprint. Do different crab boil type words in different font types/styles with names, places, memories - maybe an article about seafood with images, etc. in Photoshop as if you cut the pieces from different papers all over. Then you could print multiple pages in black and white or age them with the color feature over and over again and they'd be party specific. It wouldn't be too hard to do.
