A dress for the little bit...

Obviously, one of the biggest differences between weddings and vow renewals is that you don't have a wedding party. So, while we won't have any friends wearing ugly matching dresses, we do have a Lil to dress. She's quite the fashionista and is already very interested in what she'll be sporting for the big day. So, while we were back to school cyber-shopping, we came across this dress and I love it! In fact, if I could find it in my size, I would rock one too!

Her eyes will look fantastic in this color. It's made out of cotton organdy, which is nice, but not too formal. They have it in a pretty pink shade as well, which I like. As soon as it goes on sale {everything goes on sale at JC!}, I'll pick up one of each to try. Pink could go with navy and green, right?

So what do you think? Yay or Nay? Pink or Navy?

Long White Dress...

Our trip was wonderful. The weather and water were both perfect and the only problem was that we had to come home! Living with extended family for a week is always interesting, but I made it out alive. Only one minor freak out and I kept it behind closed doors. Apparently I have a beach baby on my hands. She LOVES the ocean and water in general. We all stayed burn free too! A miracle, I tell you. We must have used 5 things of sunscreen though.

Other big news! We made a big decision while we were there...We're now 100% sure on the date and the venue for the rewedding. Yay! We haven't signed a contact yet, so I'll share more details after we do. Though it's not really hard to guess where. :) Let's just say that this dress would be perfect...

{her tan lines really bug me}

Once again...

Not really a surprise, but JCrew knocked it out of the park again.

Their Fall Wedding Preview is up on the site and it's great as usual. The colors for BMs are so pretty and fall-ish. The couple of gowns they previewed are stunning. I am in serious love with the first dress {pictured here}. It might actually make me change my mind about wearing an ivory/white dress. Love it, want it, need it!

Pay Day...

It's a really good thing that we get paid on the last day of the month and not the first...that way I can use my 25% card one last time before it goes bye bye. I've loved this month!

Here are a few things I have my eye on...

ps~Can you believe one of these is a Crewcuts? I want it all for me!

Pick My Dress...

Ok, now that I've decided to go with a cheaper J. Crew ceremony dress, I need to pick one! I know I've got months and months, but why wait? I like one or two of these as much as I'm going to like anything, I think and the price is great as well! I might add some sort of silk/fabric flower to whichever dress I choose {sort of like this dress}, but maybe not. We're going for a black tie optional/cocktail attire level of formality, so keep that in mind when picking your fave.

Anyway, a little about my body...I'm a shorty {5'4"} and while I'm not going to share my weight, I'll say I'm curvy. My chest is probably my best feature, except maybe my smile and winning personality. I wear a large D cup, so I HAVE to wear a bra, but I can wear a strapless one with ease. I'm planning on toning up for Wedding 2.0 and have some kick-ass arms and back, so I'd like to show those off too.

I'm not going to tell you my favorite until I hear what everybody {all three of you who read and comment} has to say. What's your vote?

If you click on the names, you can see the detail shots of each dress.

$300???

IMO, this dress is close to perfect. Effortless, timeless, that great mix of casual/seriousness that I love in a dress...and it's $300 right now!! It doesn't look too much like a wedding dress that I'll look like a nut, but it's definitely a wedding-type gown. KWIM?

I would wear this without the sash or with it tied in the back...

did I mention that I think the vow renewal is back on?

Gwen...

How wonderful {though expensive} would this be for a reception dress or a winter loft wedding? I'm in love! I could totally see this for a NYE wedding as well.

Holiday dressing...

and not the cornbread type.

Since I'm already planning my NYE invitations and catering, why not look for something to wear?

I'll take this, a great pair of jeans and some killer shoes...

Non-Bridesmaid Bridesmaids Dresses...

None of these are technically bridesmaid's dresses and maybe that's why I like them. Very cute dresses from the best store EVER.
{This is a dress that you really could wear again...and again and again! Love a LBD!}

{This one also comes in a navy, which would be very cute for a preppy wedding!}

{This is my favorite. It also comes in a light grey! Yummy!}

Birthday Wish #3

I'll take them both, pretty please with a cherry on top!

Who doesn't need a washed leather jacket?
They finally brought their kitten heel boots back! I've worn mine out!

Now, one of these will be a gift to myself. One of them is probably going to stay on the WISH list for right now, but it's fantastic, isn't it? Being an adult stinks! I'd buy it in a heartbeat about two years ago!

These are a few of my favorite things...

Oh how I love the Crew!

I think it's safe to say that I'm a huge fan of JCrew. I'm actually a bit dorky about JCrew. I get very excited when the new catalogs in the mail. It's a happy day in our house! My daughter and I both look through it. She's four, so I think she's mostly on the princess lookout, since everything should have them in them if you ask her.

The first dress is actually a dress that I'm looking at for the vow renewal. It's so simple, which would be great for the beach and it's under $400! Score! The shoes I both want in gray, since I'm a major fanatic. Before we were doing a beach ceremony, we were looking for a farm/barn venue and I wanted to wear a dove gray gown. The last dress is what I'd wear to the fabulous 30th birthday party that I'm sure my husband is planning for me right now. My "Golden" birthday is this year on August 30th and I think a rockin' gold dress is very fitting. If you have to turn 30, it should be your golden birthday and you should get to wear that dress while drinking tons of champagne with all your best friends. But, since it's $600 and not something you can get a ton of use out of, I think I might have to pass. But you never know...I've put it on my list of things to seek out in NYC next week when I'm there with the hubby for the ABA meeting. If it calls to me, who am I not to answer?
